‘Hey let’s spend a weekend in Ubud!’ – this idea always strikes impromptu, right? The truth is, you are never quite ready with a clear plan: what are you going to do there (well, defo read our Ubud Adventures page for some ideas to start with) and where you gonna stay. Ubud is so close but sometimes might seem to be so far away.
Thу serene view from the second floor of Bisma Cottages
Well, we can take the last one off your shoulders, that’s for sure: we’re happy to give out our favourite tiny boutique hotel on the trending Jalan Bisma, which is dotted with little cafes. It’s called Bisma Cottages Ubud. There are only 6 rooms, 4 of them are pretty wooden joglos, traditional Bali style but with all the modern tricks like strong aircon and safety boxes; other two are more of a modern studio type overlooking the serene rice fields with the ducks walking and dragonflies flapping around. Our favorite thing: the pool is equipped with the latest novelty, floating bean bags. It’s literally like bathing without leaving your armchair, Tatler in hand. There is nothing better after a morning full of yoga, trekking the Campuan Ridge Walk and shopping for a new yoga mat ? A little oasis it is, indeed!
By the way, that Bisma street is one rad location: one side of it ends with Monkey Forest (you can walk there in just 5 min!), the other end leads to Jalan Raya, full of various shops and cafes. Walking distance to just about anywhere, really!
