You haven’t really eaten in Bali until you’ve tasted the rich flavors of Nasi Campur found in local warungs. But if you’re vegan or on an organic diet, you might be struggling with traditional warungs using MSG or taking the same serving spoon for meat and vegetable dishes alike. Well, Vinny’s Warung will chase your warung woes away!
Vinny has been vegan since she learned how to read and write, and when she came back to Bali, she was craving for some nasi campur just like her pembantu used to do when she was living here as a kid. And voila! This cute little spot on Berawa serves delicious vegan Nasi Campur with no MSG or other nasty additives and uses only coconut oil and organic and fair trade rice and veggies from local farmers. The entire menu is a 100% vegan and full of flavour.
Just like the local warungs you walk up to the window and will be asked to choose between white, yellow or red rice and then point and choose at the different items on display. And the menu changes everyday, depending on what’s fresh and in season, so you’ll never get tired of it! We’ve had beautiful jackfruit lawar, delicious urap, spicy tofu sambal, and fear not, they’ve got all the warung comfort food faves like potato and corn fritters, tempe manis. And you can wash it all down with their homemade jamu with a lovely hint of tamarind, so good! There is realness to the food here, healthy and homely nourishment with a real focus on flavours and textures. Vegan Nasi Campur really doesn’t get better than this!
