When you’ve been living out of a suitcase for the last three years, you learn to downsize your wardrobe the hard way (hello epic baggage allowance fail!). You also tend to let go of that fast fashion promise that the more you have, the happier you are and (try to) apply the golden rule of quality over quantity. But if you think that shopping with integrity means low on style, then you’ve got another think coming.

Yoli & Otis opened their first Bali store in Canggu with a collection of womenswear and childrenswear using shapes and styles as natural as the fabrics themselves while remaining stylish and utterly fabulous. The Byron-based brand started out with baby carriers made of organic cotton and all-natural dyes from botanical sources such as turmeric, henna, aloe vera and indigo.

The colours are totally in tune with mother nature and take on faded pastel tones and other earthy colours. Their women and children clothing features dresses, camis, rompers, shorts, blouses and are all on our lust list! They use natural organic fibres such as cotton or linen (trust us, it looks even better when it’s wrinkled) both perfect for Bali weather.

The designs are minimalist chic, they’ll never go out of style (fashion changes, but style endures – Coco Chanel) and you can mix and match them. If you’re still feeling hesitant, just try on one of their pieces and see how the clothes feel against your skin – ahhh, the fine and tender drape of sheer cotton… Because let’s be honest, we all know that after a couple of washes those fast fashion frocks will have reached their fate (the bin) and on their way to the landfill. Our only regret is that they don’t provide adult sizes for some of their adorable childrenswear.
