Bukit might be famous for the biggest waves in whole Bali and flashiest resorts in whole Indonesia, but it’s the small secrets that make it so very special. Secrets like The Secret Spot cafe.
This hole-in-the-wall shop is so tiny you instantly have a feeling you’re the first one discovering it. It’s a frozen yogurt bar, a coffee shop with good espresso (which is NOT an ordinary thing here in Bukit ?) and homemade cakes, most of which are vegan-friendly and to die for! Our pick was tiramisu with cashew cream and candy-like cranberry slice – aand we’ve never regret that. Yum!
The most beautiful young family is in charge of this place: pop anytime of the day to meet the guy with the eyes of Panton shade ‘Padang-Padang blue’, his wife who creates all the raw vegan treats, and their two angelic girls, who were an inspiration for the inception of this spot.
With the location right across the road from the main Nirmala supermarket, it’s a win-win spot for everyone: surfers looking for an afternoon pick-me-up, families coming home after a morning at the beach, and local residents looking for a sweet delight. Fun, cute, healthy, Bintang-free – with all those boxes ticked, Secret Spot definitely marks the New Age of Bukit.
