There are all sorts of breakfast options in Canggu these days: raw, fancy, hipster, with awesome coffee, with vegan-friendly coffee, Indian, Russian, French, you name it. You can wash down your salmon blinis with turmeric latte if you wish. You can eat rawesome cheesecake as your first meal. Whatever your heart – and belly – wishes.
But there are days that call for a date with an ol’ good friend. Which for us is Green Ginger Noodle House, a cafe that was there even before Canggu was in the list of ‘top rad things to do in Bali’. It is still there, sitting quietly in the bush of lush greenery, still cozy and homey, with the same cheerful ladies greeting you from the kitchen. Once in, you can’t stop shaking hands: obviously, this is a favorite ‘secret’ spot for the Canggu expats that have been here for quite a while, and in the whirlpool of ever-changing things appreciate things that are solid and steady.
So, this is our favorite cozy breakfast scenario: turmeric shot (hard to believe but they manage to make it delicious here!) followed by slightly spicy crunchy corn fritters with chili jam and crispy fried eggs and a thick creamy smoothie. Now they also do the yum, goodness-packed smoothie bowls – look at those colors! We like the prices – any bowl is only 50k, no hidden taxes. Some of them also include the top-secret ingredients, like unicorn tears. SOLD!
