It’s not that we haven’t been to Moana – fish eatery before but it’s only recently that we became a little bit obsessed with this cute little resto. Especially now, when they are open for lunch as well – we are ready to rush to get their fresh tuna tataki and that thick, creamy seafood chowder from the other side of the island, really.
Man, how come no one did a simple, average-priced, cosy, fish only restaurant in Canggu yet? Of course, there isa seafood BBQ here and there, and the fish&chips kiosks started popping up, not to mention the poke bowl craze…but a 100% pure “fish cafe” was still missing. Until some smart folks set up this Polynesian eatery in Batu Bolong. We are bowing in gratitude and respect. Finally!
It’s nothing fancy and they don’t get too creative when cooking fish here, which is good! It’s simple and delicious. Raw tuna carpaccio, tartare or tataki are the healthy options, while various fried fish dishes are the hearty ones. There are also Bora-Bora specialities for those looking for unusual flavours (sweet vanilla sauce for your snapper, how about this?), and Ahi Poke bowl of course – cause you just can’t avoid this It-dish these days. Sounds like we’re bitching, but we are not – that’s own favourite food too!
