More cool bars for Ubud, please! Then us, Seminyak/Canggu crowd will be spending most of our weekends here (although it probably gonna cause some protest demonstrations on the football field…;)) Anyways, that’s exactly what we did the past weekend: going to Ubud for some bar hopping – how odd does it sound, right?
We’ve started with the brand new Night Rooster by Locavore – the name doesn’t lie, this is the new addition to the growing empire of Elke and Ray’s Restaurant Locavore empire. This place is rad: think a classy upstairs lounge with some badass drinking menu. The cocktails are made with rye whiskey, gin, homemade fortified wine and bitters, dehydrated fruits and fermented berries, and some holy smoke, too. Quite literally! There was a drink called In To The Wild, which was served with a side of “aromatherapy” – a fragrantly steaming pot that made us think of someone smoking something not quite legal or a building being on fire! But the only ones who were actually on fire were us after just a couple of glasses – these babes are as mean as they are creative! Well, one of the drinks was called “Loloh” (‘penis” in local slang) – how cheeky is that?
One thing we know for sure: Ubud is definitely not that innocent sleepy yogi paradise anymore – and we can’t be happier about it!
